2. Customizing for Your Face Shape & Hair Texture
Welcome to Part 2 of my salon guide on Bridal Hair Vine Long Hair Vine Wedding Headband.
Every head of hair has its own density, cowlicks, and wave pattern—here is how I adjust the proportions behind the chair.

Matching Layers & Tones to Your Features
For those with heart-shaped faces, I recommend avoiding too much volume on top, as it can accentuate the width of the face.
Instead, focus on creating a sleek, streamlined look that frames the face with ease.
For those with oval or square faces, you can afford to add a bit more volume on top, but be sure to balance it with a sleek, low bun to avoid overwhelming the face.
When it comes to hair texture, I always say that the key is to work with what you have.
If you have fine or thin hair, avoid over-manipulating the hair, as it can become damaged and brittle.
Instead, opt for a more relaxed, effortless look that allows the hair to flow freely.
For those with thicker hair, you can get away with a bit more volume and texture, but be sure to use a light hand when styling to avoid over-powering the hair.
✂️ Face-Shape & Density Quick Match
- Fine-to-Medium Strands: Keep perimeter weight blunt and add micro-ribbons around the face for visual fullness.
- Thick or Wavy Hair: Use internal slide-cutting to release weight so waves stack without triangle bulk.
- Warm vs. Cool Skin Undertones: Pair golden-olive skin with honey, caramel, or espresso glosses; pair cool undertones with champagne, ash, or mocha ribbons.
