2. Customizing for Your Face Shape & Hair Texture
Welcome to Part 2 of my salon guide on Romantic Wedding Braid for Medium Length Hair.
Every head of hair has its own density, cowlicks, and wave pattern.
Here is how I adjust the proportions behind the chair.

Matching Layers & Tones to Your Features
For a round face, try a side-swept braid or a messy, undone look to create the illusion of angles.
For a square face, add some soft, curved layers to soften the features.
If you have a heart-shaped face, try a center part and a braid that falls on the opposite side of your face to create balance.
For fine or thin hair, use a root-smudged honey balayage technique to add depth and dimension.
For thick or coarse hair, use a root-touch-up color to maintain the color and prevent it from looking too dark.
Always remember to use a root-smudged balayage technique to create a seamless, natural look.
✂️ Face-Shape & Density Quick Match
- Fine-to-Medium Strands: Keep perimeter weight blunt and add micro-ribbons around the face for visual fullness.
- Thick or Wavy Hair: Use internal slide-cutting to release weight so waves stack without triangle bulk.
- Warm vs. Cool Skin Undertones: Pair golden-olive skin with honey, caramel, or espresso glosses; pair cool undertones with champagne, ash, or mocha ribbons.
