Matching Layers & Tones to Your Features
When it comes to short haircuts, there are many variations to choose from.
For those with oval or heart-shaped faces, I recommend a shorter back with a longer top to balance out the features.
For those with square-shaped faces, a shorter top with a longer back and sides can create a softer, more feminine look.
For those with fine hair, a shorter haircut with point-cut internal layers can create the illusion of thicker hair.
For those with curly hair, a shorter haircut can be a great option.
However, it’s essential to find a stylist who understands how to work with curls.
A good stylist will be able to create a look that flatters your features and enhances your natural texture.
✂️ Face-Shape & Density Quick Match
- Fine-to-Medium Strands: Keep perimeter weight blunt and add micro-ribbons around the face for visual fullness.
- Thick or Wavy Hair: Use internal slide-cutting to release weight so waves stack without triangle bulk.
- Warm vs. Cool Skin Undertones: Pair golden-olive skin with honey, caramel, or espresso glosses; pair cool undertones with champagne, ash, or mocha ribbons.
