2. Customizing for Your Face Shape & Hair Texture
Welcome to Part 2 of my salon guide on Pretty Pixie Haircuts for Thick Hair.
Every head of hair has its own density, cowlicks, and wave pattern.
Here is how I adjust the proportions behind the chair.

Matching Layers & Tones to Your Features
For women with oval or heart-shaped faces, a longer pixie cut can help elongate the face.
For those with square or angular faces, a shorter cut can soften the features.
And for women with fine or thin hair, a more subtle layering technique can help add volume without looking too done-up.
As for color, a root-smudged honey balayage can add warmth and depth to the hair.
While a 9V/9G gloss can give it a healthy, shiny look.
For women with thick hair, a point-cut internal layering technique can help create a more textured, piece-y look.
✂️ Face-Shape & Density Quick Match
- Fine-to-Medium Strands: Keep perimeter weight blunt and add micro-ribbons around the face for visual fullness.
- Thick or Wavy Hair: Use internal slide-cutting to release weight so waves stack without triangle bulk.
- Warm vs. Cool Skin Undertones: Pair golden-olive skin with honey, caramel, or espresso glosses; pair cool undertones with champagne, ash, or mocha ribbons.
